Senior Software Engineer, Application and Services

Job Description:

Beamr is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build the world's best video optimization tools.
This is a senior role, focused on designing and developing new features and maintaining our software On-Premise and SaaS solutions.
Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience in software development in Python with Linux experience, and some knowledge of video formats and protocols.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with other team members to architect and design components of our On-Premise and SaaS solutions.
  • Design and implement the company’s Applications and SaaS-Systems using video and algorithmic building blocks developed in-house as well as open-source technologies.
  • Shared responsibility for development and operation of the Beam Video cloud SaaS products.
  • Interact and communicate on a daily basis with the software development and QA teams.
Required Skills:
  • At least 5 years of software development experience - a must
  • At least 2 years of experience in Python - a must
  • Significant experience with development in Linux environment – a must
  • Excellent written communication skills in English
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently, from home
  • Experience with source control, configuration management, documentation, and testing processes
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Cloud architectures / SaaS (e.g. AWS experience) - a big advantage
  • Basic understanding of video formats and protocols – an advantage
  • Experience with C/C+ development - an advantage

Software QA Engineer for QA team

Job description:

Beamr is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join our team and help build the world's best image and video optimization tools. This role is focused on supporting research and assisting in testing, tuning and verifying image and video processing algorithms and systems. Successful candidates will be Linux users with some programming experience, they will be curious by nature and have great attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Test, analyze and help tune algorithms for image and video processing and system configurations
  • Define and perform manual and automated testing, tuning and verification of image and video processing systems
  • Take part in evaluating prototypes for new algorithms, features, architectures and products
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Linux environment - must
  • Experience in Python (or similar scripting language)
  • Experience with source control, configuration management, documentation, and testing processes
  • A methodical and meticulous work ethic, experience with QA methodologies
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Excellent written communication skills in English
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with AWS
  • An eye for image and video quality
  • Experience with Matlab

This is a position with our video processing and analysis R&D team in Saint-Petersburg (Russia), working on leading technologies and products used in computer vision to support video coding and advanced video analysis functionality. Responsibilities of the position:
  • Participation in development and implementation of algorithms for video preprocessing, analysis and compression.
Requirements of the position:
  • Degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, or electrical engineering.
  • Interest and experience with image and video processing and computer vision technology.
  • Fluency in C/C++
  • Ability to meet deadlines and commitments in a fast paced environment.
  • Quick and independent learner with an interest in R&D.
  • Good English level writing with ability to read technical literature and large volumes of technical papers.
Strongly preferred:
  • Experience with OpenCV and Python.
