Senior Field Engineer

Job Description

Beamr is seeking a Senior Field Engineer who is a problem solver. The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure the successful installation and integration of the company’s enterprise software video and photo solutions. A successful candidate will perform as part of their regular duties - and in coordination with Beamr R&D, sales, and product teams - the gathering of customer requirements, leading and managing the integration lifecycle, including installation tasks, and performing technical support both remote and onsite for Beamr’s full product line.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the evaluation process for Beamr video and photo products.
  • Manage and support the installation of Beamr video and photo products.
  • Represent the voice of the customer to Beamr R&D and Product management teams, interfacing between the company and our customer. Requires the ability to precisely and accurately articulate Beamr’s roadmap, as well as set priorities for feature releases based on customer requirements and feedback from the field.
  • Build, lead, and maintain a fluid relationship with the customer’s application engineering teams.
  • Support the sales team in customer engagements with technical material and information about product features and capabilities as required.
  • Work closely with the R&D team on product development planning, priorities, bug fixes and schedules, from a production system perspective.
  • Maintain technical industry knowledge by reviewing professional publications, attending trade shows, conferences, seminars, and webinars, participating in standardization body activities and establishing personal, professional networks.
  • Perform hands-on engineering work as follows:
    • Assist with escalated issues during the customer evaluation process that may require writing code, scripts, etc.
    • Perform on-site installation of Beamr products when needed, utilizing scripting language, API calls, command line inputs, etc.
    • Test new software versions from the customers perspective, while collaborating with Beamr R&D, QA, and field sales teams.
    • Assist with architecting Beamr’s product integration with the customer’s workflow including the design of large-scale deployments concerning performance, high availability and other strict customer requirements to guarantee business continuity and high availability of Beamr products within the production environment.
    • Take part in characterizing and designing a suitable solution to the specific customer’s workflow, specs, interfaces, and IT requirements.
    • Help to troubleshoot, debug, and follow-up on customer issues and requests.
Required Skills
  • Minimum five years experience and proven hands-on capability working with Linux, AWS, as well as a solid understanding of IT, networking, and security environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to build and maintain strong personal relationships with customer engineering team members and principals.
  • Proven hands-on experience with deploying, configuring, and supporting applications in a multi-platform environment with high-level standards of availability, and performance.
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated experience in Python or other scripting languages.
  • Solid technical background in broadcast engineering, video encoding, and OTT streaming technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional multi-national teams. -- Must be willing to work across time zones, which may mean nontraditional working hours.

Beamr is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build the world's best photo optimization tools. This is a senior role, focused on developing new features as well as maintaining our existing JPEGmini solutions. Successful candidates will have a strong all-round development background with experience in both desktop and server side development (Windows / Linux).

Job Responsibilities
  • Join our JPEGmini development team to support and further develop our consumer and enterprise products

QA Team Leader

Job Description

As a QA Team Leader at Beamr, you'll ensure the delivery of a high-quality software and platform for Beamr product lines. You'll be responsible for building and executing test strategy and plans across multiple products and platforms while working with engineering teams to identify and resolve defects. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer, with a passion for building great software Video products and improving engineering efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage QA team, responsible for multiple product lines
  • Own and drive test processes and methodologies, and partner with other disciplines to deliver high quality products to existing and new clients
  • Lead manual and automatic testing
  • Develop and mentor individuals
  • Serve as a technical and methodological subject matter expert in all regarding quality analysis, testable design and deployment
  • Define, generate and refine quality related metrics for the projects in domain
Desired Skills and Experience
